Bigness in Compatible Systems

چکیده
Clozel, Harris and Taylor have recently proved a modularity lifting theorem of the following general form: if ρ is an l-adic representation of the absolute Galois group of a number field for which the residual representation ρ comes from a modular form then so does ρ. This theorem has numerous hypotheses; a crucial one is that the image of ρ must be “big,” a technical condition on subgroups of GLn. In this paper we investigate this condition in compatible systems. Our main result is that in a sufficiently irreducible compatible system the residual images are big at a density one set of primes. This result should make some of the work of Clozel, Harris and Taylor easier to apply in the setting of compatible systems.

Movable Intersection and Bigness Criterion
In this note, we give a Morse-type bigness criterion for the difference of two pseudoeffective (1, 1)-classes by using movable intersections. As an application, we give a Morse-type bigness criterion for the difference of two movable (n− 1, n− 1)-classes.
متن کاملExponential law as a more compatible model to describe orbits of planetary systems
According to the Titus-Bode law, orbits of planets in the solar system obey a geometric progression. Many investigations have been launched to improve this law. In this paper, we apply square and exponential models to planets of solar system, moons of planets, and some extra solar systems, and compare them with each other.
متن کاملThe Other Pole of Degree Modification of Gradable Nouns by Size Adjectives: A Mandarin Chinese Perspective
Size adjectives can have degree readings when they modify gradable nouns. However, a cross-linguistic variation exists with respect to what type(s) of size adjectives in a particular language can have such readings. In English degree readings are available only for size adjectives that predicate bigness, and in Mandarin Chinese degree readings are available for all size adjectives irrespective ...
متن کاملSoft Switching MBC Controller for MIMO Linear Hybrid Systems
Switching supervisory is the most important section of a feedback control process inMIMO hybrid systems. By choosing a non-compatible controller, system may go tounstable mode or high overshoot response. In this paper, a new method of switchingfor selecting MBC controllers is discussed. Results of the simulation show the MIMO(2-in 2-out) linear hybrid system can be switched stable and low overs...
متن کاملTHE EFFECT OF OILFIELD CHEMICALS ON THE SURFACE TENSION OF SURFACTANT SYSTEMS
Treated sea water is the most significant source of water and surfactant floods. The various chemicals employed in treatment plants should be compatible with surfactant systems. Based on surface tension experiments, the activity of these chemicals is examined over a wide range of concentrations in different solutions, including distillated water, sea water by using three types of surfactant mix...
